Hello, Charlie here. I'm an Irish born Australian, living in Melbourne, and an arts and languages student.
I've been reading and re-reading DL since I was ten or so (I'm twenty seven now) and draconians are my favourite all time bad guys.
I found out about the movie maybe ten minutes ago?
Good lord, my hands are still shaking...
Needless to say, I'll be ordering the DVD post haste... |

WELCOME TO DLMS Charliedontsurf!!! So glad you came to join us! Yes, you are right it is very exciting that our most beloved DL is in a movie. ha ha ha, I ordered mine over a month ago and I'm still waiting for it to show up in my mailbox!!!

I have been a huge fan of the Dragonlance series (and Weis and Hickman) since I was introduced to them at school by a mate. So that was about twenty years ago nearly. (That makes me Thirtysomething-ish)
I have been meaning to post on the site for ages and finally got around to doing it. I am trying to get loads of people to read the books, particularly in view of the LOTR success. When I tell people these are a million times better than LOTR and much easier to read I get laughed at. Then comes the apology after they have read them!
Like todays generation are growing up with Harry Potter I grew up with these books and I can and have read them again and again and again.
Now that the animated movie has been made I hope someone will have the foresight to realise that they could be sitting on a virtual goldmine if they made a live action movie (are you reading Mr. Jackson?) I am sure at least 5 million would watch it as that's how many books have been sold!
Excellent, brilliant, superb. The best books ever written. I love 'em and will have words with anyone who says otherwise! |

| Hi long time reader of DL and the forums first time poster. I am from northern minnesota (currently minus 25deg.f) have been reading DL since i was about 12 am now 30 and have read and reread most of the original books. Hope to be able to discuss and share the Dragonlance world with others who love it as much as I do. That said hello to all and sorry for the life story. |

I grew up with Dragonlance. it were infact the very first book serie ever read and it has been with me always ever since i were 11 which by now is 14years ago heh.
About the time i started reading the books i also started player AD&D in the Dragonlance campaign settings and the core box set were the very first AD&D books i got. though i have shifted it out for newer ones (of the same vision dou to wear on the originate one i stil have the old first-pretty-patched-up-and-used i got) Some would call me and Roleplaying freekaziod (yes someone actuly has!!) I'm from the backwater land of Denmark which lies betwheen Germany Sweeden and Norway. |
