An ending that is true to your story is a good ending. Do what the story tells you it needs. Does it need a happy ending, a tragic ending, a triumphant ending or a bittersweet ending? Should all loose ends be tied, or are you thinking of making a sequel?
I can't tell you if it must have a rousing battle sequence, a duel, a character's dramatic death, the villain renouncing his evil ways, or the hero marries his one true love. You are the writer, consider your story and your characters and find what ending makes the best sense given all those factors.
I once read that all a good ending needs to do is satisfy the reader, and I agree with that sentiment.

I got hung up a few times by writers block and summer stuff so production slowed a lot and with all the homework I had this weekend I havent had much time to work on it. But book number two should be in the works by the end of next month. |

Well when you have the time, DM, you would need to insert a little ‘teaser’ about the story......

For Sure! Kiddo! I am sure most of us here at DLMS would be interested in the story, I know I am and so would Scann and others.

You know when you buy a book and on the back it has a little story teaser? Which is generally a paragraph or two long? How does that sound?

Alright my book is at last nearing completion here is the teaser you asked for. Tell me what you think:
The Dragon Eye stones the tresured artifacts of the Dragon brothers long lost and yet to be found. When the shadow elf Drell Dasrenvair rescues a young lady he has no idea of the danger that is soon to unfold. The ransacking of the Temple of Second Life and the kidnapping of the young lady leads to the discovery of the Red Dragon Eye stone, thought to be in the possesion of the dwarfs. What connection dose the stone have to the strange Hobgoblin raids? In war torn Arlsgain far to the east an evil is stiring that will bring and old enemy to the surface. The Dragon Eye stones are at the center of it all but how? The past and the present are soon to colide as old mysteries unravel. Legends come to vivid and frightening life as the world Drell knew is turned upsidedown.
not much I know, maybe I'll revise it later |
