I'm going to tone things down a bit and post a poem here. I wrote it for one of my characters, Sarilban the Shadow Stalker. Let me know what ya think
Shadow Stalker
Once powerful with in my own right
I held favor with the light
But something with in began to stir
Before me the light began to blur
Though it twas not my intention
I found my heart drawn toward insurrection
Dark secrets beaconed me come hither
And before them my will did wither
Knowledge unbounded was promised me
For it I would have given up my immortality
So in the earth I hid away
And there I stayed till the dawning light of a new day
For years this continued
And my books grew in multitude
I did not know then that a price one day would need paying
And that it would not be held at bay by any amount of praying
Had I known what that price would be
I would have turned from this path in all complacency
At the hands of an old foe I met my fate
For judgment I did not have to wait
In chains was I bound
Her cries, they seemed the only sound
When they were silenced my heart bled
His laughter instilled in me an unconceivable sense of dread
I found a new home
Where knowledge thrives and the lives of fools epitome
My solitude is my shield
And it is one that I am content never to yield
She haunts my dreams and I long for her
At times the pain threatens to tear me asunder
I am the Shadow Stalker
I need not your pity
I will not satisfy your depravity
Alone am I, and alone shall I remain
None shall I ever let so near my heart again

It's extremely, extremely well written. I like the way you made the rhymes, with spelling instead of sound. It has a charm that is hard to find any more.

You had to pay attention to catch that it wasn't the normal sound rhyming, which is why I think it was so successful for this one. I didn't catch it until epitome.
