"First round! Contestants will shoot for points and must earn fifty to move on to the second round. Clayon of the City Guard will shoot first" *a tall man in light armor at the far end of the line stepped forward and bowed before drawing his bow to shoot. The contest continued with all the archers taking turns at their individual targets*

*At the end of the first round seven contestants, including Thomas still remained* "Second round Contestants will shoot for accuracy. All arrows must land either in the center of the target or in the ring closest to center. Any shot that lands out side of these targets will result in termination from the contest. Thomas Brander has first shot" *Thomas bowed and stepped forward. He aimed slowly and fired, his arrow landed dead center*

**Kalas was not sure if Thomas's crossbow had enough range power or not, most crossbows were not a far range weapon. Most archers move over to a Composite LongBow for long range shooting**

*Thomas hailed the judge of the contest, who came over slowly, holding off the final round. After a few quick words the judge nodded and walked back to his place. Meanwhile Thomas sat to do some quick modifications to his cross bow*

*Thomas smiled back and waved before rising to his feet so the final round could begin. It took only a few flights of arrows for fatigue to wittle away the other competetors, leaving Thomas as the Winner* "We all could have kept up if we had cross bows! I call you a cheat!" *cried a red capped archer two men down from Thomas. Thomas didn't say a word as he strode up to the man and took his bow from him. Pushing the red capped man aside Thomas placed an arrow to the bow and fired, it landed square on the target. Thomas shoved the bow back into the mans hands, who stood suprized for a moment then scoweled and stalked off. The judge then stepped forward and handed Thomas the coin purse that was the prize. The wagon maker held the purse aloft for a moment before walking over to join Lance and the others*
"You were amazing Thomas! How dare that other man call you a cheat" *said Lance*
